Matthew 2

S - Matthew 2
O - The Magi (wise men) and Joseph do as they were warned in dreams in order to protect Jesus. This saves him from King Herod. I think the faith there is really amazing. Look at these people, so obedient to the Lord. Compared to them, we have God's word written out for us in the bible and taught to us in churches...but we are so much less ready to obey.
Herod seems to be going after Jesus in fear that he might overthrow him in his position of power some day.
v6 "But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel'."
Well God sent his son to live among men for a purpose, and nothing could stand in the way of that. The more Herod tries, God still finds a way out by using the Magi and Joseph.
